(PORTLAND, Ore.) — Unified Western Grocers Pacific Northwest Division will continue its special relationship with Portland's Doernbecher Children's Hospital next month when it serves as a corporate sponsor for the institution's annual fund-raising event, the 2001 Heart of Doernbecher Auction.
The dinner event, which will be held Oct. 27 in Portland at the Governor Hotel, features silent and live auctions, as well as performances by local artists. As a corporate sponsor, Unified is making a contribution to the Doernbecher Foundation.The company also is providing auction items and is purchasing tickets for a number of guests to attend the event.
Dirk Davis, president, Pacific Northwest Division, and vice president of Unified, is a member of the event's organizing committee and also serves on the hospital's board of directors.
Doernbecher Children's Hospital, the first full service pediatric hospital in Oregon, offers comprehensive pediatric care as well as many specialized programs for children. Primary and specialized pediatric care is also available through Doernbecher's outpatient facilities.
