Unified Western Grocers Donates $51,000 To Cancer Research

(LOS ANGELES) — Unified Western Grocers donated $51,000 to cancer research as a result of the company's participation in the 2001 Revlon Run/Walk.  More than 200 Unified employees, family members and friends participated in the event held on May 12 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Unified vendors, who also participated in the company-wide effort, donated prizes, purchased drawing tickets and participated in the run/walk itself as Unified team members.  The annual Revlon event raised more than $5 million for cancer research.

"Unified Western Grocers continues to support this ongoing effort in the fight against cancer," said Judy Bossolono, fund raising chairperson for Unified Western Grocers.  "Employees at all levels of the company remain dedicated to this cause and as a result, they donated their time and talent to the fight against cancer."
