Board & Executive Management

Michael (Mike) Provenzano was first elected to the Unified Grocers Board of Directors in 1986.

Mike is the president, chief executive officer for Pro’s Ranch Markets, a chain of independent supermarkets with 10 locations in Arizona (4), California (4), New Mexico, and Texas.  Mike began his career working for three grocery chains in Southern California during the 1960s and 1970s.  In 1982, he opened his first grocery store in the community of Ontario, California.  In 1997, he opened the Delano and Arvin Ranch Markets and two years later opened his signature stores in Phoenix, Arizona.  His eastward expansion continued with stores in El Paso, Texas (2007) and Albuquerque, N.M. (2008) 

In addition to serving on the Unified Board, Mike has been a member of the Executive Committee for the National Grocers Association, a member of the Arizona Food Marketing Alliance Board, the Food Marketing Institute Board, and the Western Association of Food Chains Board.  In 2004, Mike was named the Arizona Retailer of the Year.  Mike also is a recipient of the Ben Schwartz Retail Grocery Visionary Award presented by Unified Grocers.
