More Ways to Make It Your Market®

We recognize our corporate responsibility to serve as an active participant in the communities in which we conduct business.  From financial or in-kind support to sponsorship of specific activities and events, Unified, our employees and our independent retailer members and customers are strong supporters of organizations that help sustain healthy and vibrant communities.  Some of the many organizations that Unified maintains a special, ongoing relationship include:

City of Hope
The food industry, including Unified Grocers, has a longstanding relationship of supporting the City of Hope and their lifesaving work in the fight against cancer and other serious diseases. Each year, Unified and its employees help raise awareness and much needed cancer research funding through internal campaigns, volunteer activities and sponsorship of the Seattle, Walk for Hope.

Doernbecher Children’s Hospital
For over 25 years, Unified has supported the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and their full spectrum of comprehensive pediatric health care, education, and research for the children of the Pacific Northwest. From our support of the annual Heart of Doernbecher Ball to our company’s regular fundraising auctions and luncheons, Unified Grocers’ employees enjoy making kids a top priority.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Unified has partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help grow its grassroots efforts to educate people about cancer, ensure quality care, and further scientific research for finding a cure. In addition to hosting a variety of cancer awareness and fundraising activities, Unified Grocers is working with Komen for the Cure to extend its life-saving efforts into communities that are served by Unified's retail members' grocery store.

Northwest Harvest, Oregon Food Bank and Weingart Center Association
Fighting poverty and hunger is a cause close to our hearts here at Unified. Throughout all of our operating divisions we take great pride in helping keep community support organizations and regional food banks stocked with the products that they need to ensure no person ever goes without.
